New England Equal Best Winning Streak From Tom Brady Years with Triumph Against New York Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

Rookie Henderson has recorded five scores in the present year

The New England Patriots matched their best victory streak since the Tom Brady period as they defeated division rivals the Jets by 13 points in the NFL

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since star signal-caller Brady's last year with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Drake Maye accumulated 281 yards and a touchdown, completing 25 of 34 passes

Victory increases the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they moved to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after dropping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had taken the lead at their home field with quarterback Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to conclude the Jets' initial series

But the home team responded in the second period as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to extend the lead to 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He desires to be excellent."

Justin Fields threw to John Metchie late in the third period to close the gap for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots wrapped up the triumph
