During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
